Section 57

All offences under this Act which are only punishable by a fine or by imprisonment for a term of not exceeding one year may be settled by the Director-General or a person appointed by the Director-General in accordance with the settlement criteria prescribed by the Committee.

Upon payment by the accused of the settled amount of the fine within thirty days from the settlement date, the case shall be deemed settled under the Criminal Procedure Code.
